This brief posting deals with audio files posted on Newfound websites. The first link is to the Riverday podcast, an audio file of media collected during and after Fourth Grade Riverday last fall. The purpose for posting this podcast is twofold: kids can listen to it throughout the year and be reminded of concepts introduced and parents and stakeholders can listen as well to get the flavor of the day and to help them understand the power of learning outside the classroom.
The second links come courtesy of BES's kindergarten class. Listen to their song, "Thankful," and a little poem for Christmas. Both sound files were recorded in the classroom at morning meeting. Both were posted on the classroom webpage so parents could listen and sing/recite with their children at home.
Is this a form of technology that you might be able to use? We'll be doing more podcasts and other recordings in the future. It's a great way to get the word out about the good work we do here at Newfound - and to do it in the voices of our students.

"Thankful" was just wonderful. Unfortunately, the Christmas poem didn't play correctly. NT
